Happy Birthday Carl

So today is Carl's birthday. He called early this morning after he got to work and like a dork, I forgot today was his birthday and didn't realize it until he said his boss wished him a good one. Even then it took me a few minutes to remember it... DUH.. lol.

Anyhow, we picked him up some CD's last week that we thought he'd like (he did) and I made an actual lemon pie (his favorite) tonight for dessert. I was surprised that it turned out so well, but it did. It wasn't just lemon pudding with whip cream, it was restaurant quality I'm telling you. I've never done this before and was so afraid that it would mess up but it was delicious.

Well, we had good news come across the phoneline today... the girls will get to go to Silver Dollar City on Friday for Young Christians Weekend again this year. A girl from church invited them and told them to invite their friends. I kept asking Sarah to get the info from her on who to contact or do we just show up, etc and finally I got it on Thursday. I called Friday and they called me back today and said they had enough to fit them in. The bad part is Sarah had told some people about it and I feel bad that the extra friends won't get to go, but I don't know what I can do. At least Six Flags is coming up in a few months and there's always next year. Sometimes though, I just wish she'd be quiet on things until I have all the answers in hand.. lol. But that's Sarah...oh well. So they'll be gone Friday through Sunday and it's going to be quiet here. It's funny as I was just joking with a prayer on Friday night that some peace and quiet was needed in the house. I think God was laughing at me because the volume on the girls mouth has increased threefold this week and I know I'm going to savor the days this weekend. I hope.. lol.

Church was really nice on Sunday. Our choir really stepped up and did a bang up job. Sarah is part of it and I couldn't even hear her voice. Last year when she went on tour with the youth choir, you could hear her sharpness in the music. This time around, they all sounded great and I can't wait to hear her sing again (April 27th.. lol).
