We hit the road, Jack...

The girls and I hit the road yesterday and went to Branson.  We went to the Titanic Musuem and toured it.  It was so much fun, but I think we had more fun just driving around and seeing the town.  At the Titanic, we walked the Grand Staircase, viewed third class vs first class, sat in a lifeboat (they were huge and there was more than enough room for everyone) walked out on deck and saw the iceberg (barely) in the water...just a bunch of things.  They had a comparison chart of the Titanic against major landmarks.  The Titanic was stood on end and it was taller than the St. Louis Arch, the Statue of Liberty, the World Trade Center and even the Golden Gate Bridge (not all those together, but individually).  The girls held their fingers in 28° water for 2 minutes to see how cold the water was the night the ship sank.  They couldn't feel their fingers for nearly 10 minutes afterwards.

We also had lunch at the Hard Luck Diner (where the waitstaff sings as they deliver your food and American Idol cast off Jason Yaeger works), then stopped in for some shopping at a clothing and book store.  Before we left, we picked up Krispy Kremes for dh and then it rained on us the whole way home... a 4 hour drive.  But all in all it was a super day.  We left at 7:30 and made it home at 8:30 that night... a long day full of fun memories.

I'd have taken pictures, but they won't let you bring your camera in there.  There's so many old pieces that people were photographing them then selling them on ebay.  So... here's their website if you want to see a little bit of the tour we took...http://www.titanicbranson.com/titanic_tour_lobby.php

So now it's the weekend... nothing much is happening here.  Sarah is going to a friends house, Kelly has a movie coming in that she wants to watch, dh has to work for a few hours tonight.  We'll probably work on our closets. Woot... exciting.
