This morning, Carl called me at 8 and said he needed me to come get him from work. Twenty years of marriage and this has never happened... so I'm worried. I go pick him up, he can barely walk, throwing up, nauseous and in severe pain. I didn't know if he was having an appendicitis attack, a kidney stone or a baby. It was bad.
So I drove him to the ER (40 miles from his work) that he wanted to go to. They gave him some great drugs (AKA the shut him right up pills) and did a CT scan. Comes back with the result of a kidneystone in the upper part of his kidney. The doctor said I don't know if we should remove it today or have you schedule a visit. I told him that I'm not taking him home in the same condition I brought him in... no way!
Luck of all luck (answered prayers actually), the same doctor who had performed a kidney stone procedure on DH 3 years ago, was working in that hospital at that hour! The chances are like slim to none, but he was there. He came down and talked to us and said he could fit us in, but it would be a few hours.
He leaves the room and I see him... he floats by as if he walks on a cloud. *SIGH* Dr. McDreamy. I had to look twice though because it was so funny. I giggled at the thought of a grown man trying to look like a tv actor. Does he get dates that way? How serious can his patients (or their families) take him? It really looked idiotic to be honest. While the other doctors were dressed in a nice shirt & tie, he had the white lab coat, scraggly beard, hair and all. I couldn't take a picture because he never came near our room, but you could tell he was enjoying his "fame".
This face with this hair and labcoat.
Other than that, dh finally made it into surgery at 3:30. He was done by 4:15 and we left the hospital at 7:45. It was a very long day.. lol. Friday, we go back for the other stones to be blasted (shock wave treatment).
And for what it's worth, I don't even like McDreamy.
