The food chain... and an update on Carl.

Carl is finally done with the whole stone thing.  He had his stents removed today and all is well again.  The doctor said the stone they removed last Wednesday had been the size of a peanut.  It's no wonder he was hurting.  But he's almost back to his normal old self and very back to work (*secret yaays*).

So this morning, we (Kelly & I) took him to a surgery center to have the stents out.  It was quite a wait and the waiting room was full.  She and I went outside to sit as it was nice.  Kelly said, "so I guess school is cancelled today?"  HA, wrong thing to ask mom.  No... we're having impromptu school now.  She frowned but went along with it, not knowing what was coming.  We walked around the building for a while and then sat down on the ledge.  I started asking her about different parts of sentences, we did some mental math (percents, quick addition/subtraction, etc), geography with landmarks and then we did some science.  Just for a review, I had her map out the solar system with some decorative gravel and make sure everything was sized accordingly.

Then somehow the food chain came up.  We were laughing and just having fun with it and she said... "Ok... a bug is ate by a bird.  A bird is ate by a cat."  She stopped, looked at me like I should say something so I said "A cat is ate by...."Her answer?  Chinese people.  She's a bad little girl.  The conversation ended in buzzards & roadkill...but she's such a smart alek.
