Happy Easter!

I really love Easter.  I love the pastel colors, I love chocolate and I love the story that makes it mean so much.  We had a wonderful Easter weekend and I am so thankful for it and many things.  I just feel like sharing it.

Yesterday, one of my youngest friends, Molly came over and we made cookies (mostly cake cookies and premade things) for today's church service.  I love talking with her, she's a wonderful kid.  He mom died almost two years ago and she was a good friend of mine also.  I just, I don't know... having the common bond of losing a parent at such a young age (she was 9) just makes my heart break for her and makes me love her so much.  She's going to be okay, I know that for a fact, but it's still such a hard thing.

So like I said, we made 'cookies.'  She said "I thought we were going to make real cookies.. lol.  I had passed up that idea because I didn't know I'd have my new stove by then.  I always hate buying ingredients only to burn them most of the time.  This year things went off without a hitch, mostly.  We made cake mix whoopie pies, white chocolate covered Oreos (only dipped one side and they were so rich and good) and Rice Krispy bar peep treats, which was discovered at the website Love From The Oven.  I also borrowed her picture because I didn't think to take any of my own.  Smart girlie huh? :)   We used pink and blue Peeps and only coated the front half of the treat.  It worked like a charm and were a hit!  We also made a centerpiece which once the pictures from Carl's cell phone send, I'll share.  It was super easy and way too cute.

Our church service was really nice this year.  We had a couple of guys perform two skits created by the Skit Guys (The Prodigal Son & Grace).  What a blessing they were.  The music was ramped up and the song choices were beautiful.  The message, our Pastor just shares it so well and if you heard him, you'd know it's a gift from God.  And what a blessing it was that two people gave their life over to Christ today.  No more looking back they are a new creation in Him. Finish all that goodness off with family Communion and well... it was great.  :)

Last week we went to another church and watched a play about Christ's life.  They did such an exceptional job, it was amazing the lengths they went to.  It was equal to a show put on at an amusement park or one put on by a college drama team.  It was just better than most all.  I don't know, I've felt strange over the past week, since I watched that play.  We were sitting in a place where (this) Jesus passed right next to me and it just made me think.  The first time through, the people were thrilled to have Him with them and the next time He was being beat and they were yelling "crucify Him!"    I just cannot fathom why He would die for me, but I am so thankful that He did.

Anyhow, I'm feeling super thankful this weekend.  Thankful for my family, friends, life, my bills, my hurts, my problems, my memories and more.  I'm thankful for all of those because what's mine is His and what's His is mine...He's preparing a place and I'm so thankful that I have this moment to share my love for Him.
