Everyone knows when they're eating poorly. You feel sluggish, bloated, and still hungry sometimes to the point where you can't even get enough. Yep...that was us. We know that eating poorly for so long has brought us to this point in life to make a change and turn around. The hard part though is the change to eat better because it's not routine. And not to mention the new tastes and textures that come with new meals! It just isn't the comforting familiarness that we've associated with for so long.
So I thought I'd share our menus. Why? Why not.
Friday: Pork Steak, Baked Potato
Saturday: Leftovers/Fix Your Own
Sunday: Chicken Alfredo, Salad
Monday: Chicken Fajitas
Tuesday: Roast, Vegetables, Stuffing
Wednesday: Biscuits & Gravy, Sausage
Thursday: Baked Potato Soup & Ham Sandwich
Now, granted, a lot of those are not healthy meals. But! Let me show you what a typical week did look like.
F: Pizza
S: Subway
S: Hot Dogs
M: Tuna Casserole
T: Chicken Fajitas
W: Pizza
T: Cereal or whatever
And filled with lots of candy bar/ice cream snacks in between. It is no surprise to me how we got, or stayed, this way.
So it's been four nights since the plan was instituted and so far so good. I'm looking forward to the coming months to change out the foods we're eating into even healthier options, but I'll take today's change as a positive thing and just smile about it.
