And the week begins.

Yesterday, I was in the church nursery for the first time.  I stepped out of my comfort zone.  Ok...here's the thing.  I love dealing with teenagers.  Some people are scared at this thought, but I enjoy seeing them interact with each other, talking with them, listening to their thoughts.  They are standing in the doorway at the edge of life and I am so blessed to watch them step through into it.  It's like, they're not living just in the here and now, they are actually learning that all things they do are creating tomorrows success or failure.  It amazes me to watch these young people grow.

Anyhow, I volunteered to work in the church nursery at least until we get into our permanent home.  I won't say that I won't need a break at times, but I plan to help out as long as I can.  Well, the nursery is for babies through age 4, so I asked if it would be okay if I just watched over the babies and left the toddlers to someone else.. LOL.   Toddlers... ooh they're cute, but they're so fast and they stop (seemingly right where you'll be stepping without noticing they're there) so quick.  I just can't keep up with them.. lol.  I've had older kids too long and I forgot how.

But I love to hold other peoples babies.  I can rock them, feed them, sing to them (they don't make faces at that) and just watch them sleep (and I'll even change them, but it's not a highlight).  And then I can send them home with their mom and dad.  So, I was in the nursery for the first time yesterday and we had at least 4 babies.  All I can say is thank the Lord that there was an overabundance of help.  It'll be better week after week, and it was a good day, but lol, I wasn't expecting so many babies at once.  The were all really cute though and I had fun holding them.  And like teenagers, they're at a point in life, where everything is opening up a whole new world to them.  It amazes me to watch these young people grow.
